Repair AVI File CRC Error

When I tried to open a particular AVI file stored on my PC, I frequently get a "Cyclic Redundancy Check" error, why is this happening? And more importantly, what do I do?

Bad Sectors: CRC checking is most commonly thought of as a way to detect errors that result from damage to storage space due to formation of more number of bad sectors. And in case, if you save any AVI file on any of these bad sectors then it’s likely to encounter with CRC errors.
Errors while downloading: Users tend to download AVI video files from internet, but while downloading if any interruption occurs then your file will not get downloaded properly. When you try to play these files using any media players, CRC error can arise.

Major causes like bad sectors can be resolved by defragmenting the drive, so that the files that are being written to the hard drive will be safe. Prevent malicious programs from entering into the storage drive, to be on the safer side.
